Much of what we do in counseling is educational and motivational. We respect your right to make the choices that you feel are best for you. As therapists, we can give information, feedback, support and validation while you explore your options. We strive to help you achieve optimal mood and functioning.
We employ several forms of psychotherapy, including Cognitive Behavioral, EMDR, Psychodynamic, Rational Emotive (RET), Gestalt, Strength Based Therapy, DBT, mindfulness, meditation, and relaxation techniques.
What Brings People to Counseling?
Have you ever thought, "I don't know what's wrong, I am just unhappy with the way my life is turning out."? You don't have to be "mentally ill" to benefit from psychotherapy. It is to be expected that our moods change daily and throughout our life span. Many of our clients are just "stuck" in a pattern that is no longer productive, or they struggle with confusion over an issue and just want objective, non-judgmental feedback on their thought process.
Counseling can be helpful to clarify, organize and support change. Together, we can examine the origin of issues and make plans that allow healthy coping and change.
