Depression

Depression comes in many forms and for many reasons. Depression can range from a feeling of mild malaise, to extremes of inability to perform any kind of daily function. In severe cases of depression, suicide becomes a concern.

Much of the depression we see is related to a lifelong pattern of lack of support from important people, such as parents, in your early years. Made to feel unimportant or misunderstood in these primary relationships, this pattern often continues in later relationships.

Working with trained therapists, inaccurate beliefs about yourself and others can be examined and corrected. As beliefs and behaviors change, feelings will change in response.

We can work with your primary care physician when medications are needed to supplement psychotherapy.
